About the UpCYCLE Designs
I started in 2010 experimenting with shrinking and "felting" old wool
sweaters. I became obsessed with making hats and other accessories
to the point where I had at least 200 sweaters in my workshop.
Some of the wools are merino, shetland, lambswool, angora goat and
rabbit, cashmere, tibetan yak and even llama! Each shrinks differently
changing the texture and feel. The hats and accessories are embellished with antique and deer antler buttons, then lined with recycled cotton t shirts to prevent "wool itch".
the UpCYCLE Designs goal is to take unused items, then reuse, refurbish and recreate something fun and useful.
